Monday 24th April - Sunday 30th April

It is the last week before submission (everything is due on Tuesday 2nd May). I am still on Ester holidays but I was struggling with moving my coded website onto a USB. This meant I had to come back earlier than planned so my course tutor could help me fix the problem. Before I made the decision to come back early, I was emailing my tutor for help but, this was not working out very well because she needed to see the work in person. I came back to university and within seconds, my tutor found the problem and fixed it. This took a massive weight off my shoulders because, I was worried I would not be able to submit the work in time. After that was dealt with, I managed to finish my PDF presentation which now has 43 pages. The presentation has to be 7 to 10 minutes long. Hopefully I have enough information to meet that criteria. When the PDF was complete I began concentrating on producing my presentation for my PDP. The presentation requirements are different compared to the PDF. I only

Monday 17th April - Sunday 23rd April

During this week I focused on my PDF presentation, finalising my web design and beginning to transfer my work onto a memory stick for submission. The PDF presentation is going well however, there is more work I need to do on it. The more I do, I realise I'm missing something so I have to go back and rearrange everything to get it all to fit. I have currently got 27 pages and I still have a lot more to add in. Finalising my web design is a tricky thing to do. The website is complete, I'm just now trying to fix the very minor, small details. This is proving to be quite difficult and I am having to do a lot more research into how to fix these issues. One of the main issues is the response effect does not work as effectively as I would have liked, it works up until the page cannot go any smaller. This is rather frustrating but I am not sure how to fix this. I have began transferring my work onto a usb memory stick which at first, I thought would be simple. Transferring everythi

Monday 10th April - Sunday 16th April

It is now the Easter holidays so planning and time keeping is very important. Im currently working and doing course work but I have  made a timetable to help me keep on top of the work. Being on Easter holidays also means group communication is all done over social media. This can be rather annoying but, it is useful to be able to look back over the conversation for important information. For this week, I focused on my research and development PDF for 114AAD. I started this a few weeks ago but stopped to produced all the needed deliverables at the time. Im now picking up where I left it. At the moment, I have designed my PDF as an A3 landscape presentation. I decided to look at the brief before I continued and, I realised the presentation needs to be A4 landscape. This meant I had to down size and rearrange the pages so my work would fit the brief. This was an easy issue to resolve. Next weeks aim : Continue PDF and finish by Sunday 23rd April. I also need to start transfering my w

Monday 3rd April- Sunday 9th April

During this week I have managed to finalise everything that needs to be printed for submission on Tuesday 2nd May. This includes, my app, double sided flyer, double sided catalogue, house style board and the site map. These were all printed at Staples. Printing at Staples allowed me to pick how I wanted the finished piece to look. I was given a book that had different paper weights and finishes. I was also given the option to print using litho or digital. For all of these print outs I decided to go with digital. Here are some pictures of the book I was given: Here is how each have been printed: App   100gsm, printed as scaled down A3 and printed as 4 A3 sections, matt finish and mounted Flyer 250gsm, gloss finish printed on A4 portrait  cut down to B6 Catalogue 250gsm, matt finish printed as double sided A3 landscape House Style board 160gsm, matt finish printed as A3 portrait  and mounted Site map 160gsm, matt finish printed as landscape A3  and mounted Here is

Monday 27th March - Sunday 2nd April

This week we didn't have any lectures, we had various critiques with our tutor and class members. Unfortunately, I was ill this week so I did miss a few lectures but, when I felt better and went to uni, I received some helpful feedback about my group catalogue and my app design. For my app design I currently have 23 frames, the minimum our tutor is looking for is 5. Having 23 frames, as iPhone 6 real life size, it is going to be hard to fit them all on to one piece of paper for submission. I tried to fit all of my work onto 1 A1 piece of paper but unfortunately, I had to remove a few frames to allow the important ones to fit. Here is an image of all of the frames I have produced: This is a screen shot of all the frames before I attempted to place them all on one A1 sheet. This is what it looked like after my first attempt and, with the iPhone model: I have 20 frames on here but I have included all the main parts. The frames I took out are the 3 white ones displayed
