Monday 1st May - Tuesday 2nd May

On Monday I met up with my team at the library. There was one member I expected to not turn up as they have not turned up to any meetings. This person did not turn up. We was at the library from 10am till 5pm getting the final parts of the group work done. We managed to link all the pages apart from the ones from the person who did not turn up. I am very pleased with the way our teams website looks.

We had a little problem with our catalogue printouts and because it was a bank holiday Monday, we ended up driving to Birmingham to get this reprinted. It was worth the journey because our work is ready to be submitted. Due to the fact that I am project manager, I will be the person submitting the group portfolio as well as my own.

Tuesday is submission day. Once the work is submitted, I need to concentrate on rehearsing my presentations for PDP and Project #HEX.

D&AD Submission

I decided to submit my work to the D&AD competition. Here I have attached the video presentation and support .jpegs that I sent. I am very excited about this and I am hoping I win a pencil from this completion, as this will give an advantage over others when applying for jobs. To submit work, I had to write small explanation. Here is what I put: ‘Virgin Venture’ is for the adventurous. The app and website allow people to book holidays based on categories and destinations. The second feature, which differentiates this app is ‘Venture Luck’. This feature is for the risk takers. The interface of this section is inspired by the popular Tinder app, allowing people to skip, save or book pre-planned holidays. The only detail needed from the person is a date. Placement research

Over the last few weeks I have been researching job placements. It has been very hard to find 3 month placements, all of them seem to be a year long or I am not qualified for the opportunity. Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers Muesum

Friday 30th September Today I went on a trip to Oxford to visit two museums. These museum's were Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers. Both of these museums had lots to offer but, I did prefer the Pitt Rivers museum beacuse it at things you could interactive with. Ashmolean is the University of Oxford's museum of art, founded in 1683. The collection is very large and has Egyption mummies to contemporary art. The museum displays all sorts of diversity throughout culture across time. During the time I was exploring the museum, I produced some observational drawings as well as taking photographs. My favourite part of the museum was the Egyptions beacuse, it was incredible to get close to these amazing historical pieces. Pitt Rivers displays archaeology and anthropology collections of the University of Oxford. The museum was founded in 1884 by 'Augustus Pitt Rivers'.
